Tasting Notes and Characteristics:

Bright, bold, and clean, Patrón Silver 100 Proof is a lively tequila for spicy cocktails, chilled shots, or evenings that call for extra intensity. It carries an ABV of 0.5, or 50 percent alcohol, and is made from 100% Weber Blue Agave with a small-batch focus that keeps its profile crisp and expressive. This tequila comes from Mexico, where its high-proof style still holds onto the fresh character of silver tequila.

Expect vivid notes of cooked agave, citrus peel, black pepper, and a touch of herbal earthiness, with a fuller heat and silky weight on the palate. That punchy, fresh flavor works especially well with ceviche, where lime and seafood echo its brightness, and with grilled shrimp, where the tequila’s peppery edge complements char, smoke, and sweet brininess.

Producer Information: Patrón

Patrón is based in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, with production centered at Hacienda Patrón in Atotonilco El Alto. The company was launched in 1989 by John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley with a goal of positioning tequila as a premium spirits category for sipping as well as cocktails. Its production model focuses on small-batch methods, 100 percent Weber Blue Agave, and a blend of traditional and modern techniques that can include brick ovens, tahona stone crushing, roller mills, copper pot distillation, and careful bottle finishing by hand.

Beyond its core tequila house, Patrón has built a wider portfolio that spans multiple tequila styles and a few specialty liqueurs tied to the agave spirits world. Its range includes blanco, reposado, añejo, extra añejo, and prestige bottlings under lines such as Gran Patrón and Roca Patrón, each defined by aging profile, texture, and agave character. The brand has also been associated with orange liqueur through Patrón Citrónge and with coffee liqueur through Patrón XO Cafe, giving it a presence in both sipping and mixology-focused categories.
